I did remove soy (about 6months into the diet) and didn't notice any discernible differences other than my son no longer had a rash on his bottom.

As far as the diet and what we saw .... my son stopped with the 10X a day runny stools, he POTTYTRAINED, he lost a lot of much-needed weight and was communicating much better. It took us about a month or so before we noticed any major changes. And 6months later, there were even more.Jennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00430436654780840205noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1061286872286285159.post-66965739458404664242012-06-01T21:29:37.663-04:002012-06-01T21:29:37.663-04:00Hi. From what I read, they say if you're going to stop casein you should stop soy because the proteins are similar. I was also wondering how your experience has been with the diet as far as behavior and communication changes and about how long did it take before you started to notice the changes?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1061286872286285159.post-64288511680238926852012-01-28T15:40:19.709-05:002012-01-28T15:40:19.709-05:00About to try this with my 2 year old!! The diet was very difficult to follow, initially.... but we made it 2.5years. We were able to transition him back to completely normal foods over the course of 2-3months and he's done wonderfully ever since. Oddly enough, he's no longer on any medication, no longer has the issues that caused us to put him on the diet, and he's a real pleasant kiddo to be around! GOOD LUCK! :) I've got some other entries here that might be of some help (there are some cookies, and a post that recommends some of our favorite products)Jennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00430436654780840205noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1061286872286285159.post-85498635436070289182011-10-31T10:08:05.863-04:002011-10-31T10:08:05.863-04:00Thank you for sharing your story, it is helpful. Such a simple dish it is one that we find so comforting. I used a new cheese product I just discovered called "Daiya" instead, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. I even ate a bowl, and believe me, I have never done that with any of the other subs. Thanksgiving holiday is soon coming and I was starting to panic, I had no mac n cheese to feed our daughter! She had been gf/cf for 8 months and she so misses this dish. I am going to go look for the pasta and teese this weekend and try it.
Thanks for posting this recipe. Hoping my daughter enjoys it as much as your son does.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
